Google Workspace & Google Voice Power Election Campaign Victory
Rise Digital implemented a Google Workspace solution that enabled the Liberal Party of Canada’s 2021 campaign team to engage voters, mobilize supporters, run campaign operations and get out the vote amidst COVID-19 public health restrictions.
About John Aldag (Liberal Party of Canada)
John Aldag was the Liberal Party candidate (now Member of Parliament) for Cloverdale - Langley City in Canada's 44th general election.
The challenge
COVID-19 forced candidates to reimagine political campaigns traditionally driven by door-to-door canvassing, large rallies, in-person fundraising events, bustling campaign offices and physical phone banks. John Aldag knew that his ability to use technology to reach voters and run campaign operations while navigating evolving public health measures could determine his success at the ballot box.
The solution
Rise Digital designed a Google Workspace solution that equipped John’s team to communicate securely in Gmail, share real-time updates in Google Chat, collaborate on documents and files in Google Drive, and run team meetings, public fundraising events and virtual door knocks via Google Meet. Google Voice enabled virtual phone banks volunteers used to reach voters from the safety of their own homes.
The results
Google Workspace’s flexible, cloud-native tools made it easy for campaign team members to communicate, collaborate and access up-to-date information from anywhere. Plus, Google Voice enabled volunteers to engage with voters from home, keeping team members safe and healthy, while eliminating travel time so they could spend more time calling to get out the vote and secure John's victory.
