Means of Production is a service production company based in Vancouver, Canada, that helps foreign clients produce commercials, TV series, feature films, music videos, promos and corporate projects for domestic and foreign brands, including Amazon, AT&T, BMW, Discovery, Disney+, Google, HP, Lexus, Netflix, Nike, Porsche, Toyota and more.
The challenge
Upon the creation of a Google Workspace account to facilitate its upgrade to the cloud, Means of Production recognized the need for expert assistance to architect a secure environment, manage change, and ensure a seamless migration of their files and user data in a matter of weeks - just time for the launch of its spring production season.
The solution
Rise Digital set hundreds of policies to configure Google Workspace for optimal productivity, security and enablement of the Means of Production’s highly-collaborative workflows. They migrated nearly 1TB of data from the client’s on-premise file server to Google Workspace Shared Drives, and developed comprehensive end-user communications and training materials to ensure a smooth transition.
The results
Means of Production now enjoys more reliable email experience with dramatically less spam. Users collaborate on files in real-time, from anywhere, on Google Drive - including MS Office files frequently used by production industry partners. They no longer require a VPN or on-premise hardware to access and host files, and benefit from Rise Digital's expert personal support to manage their solution.
